UM's Williams Finishes Second At Penn Relays

Philadelphia, PA (hurricanesports.com) – University of Miami sophomore All-American Lauryn Williams (Rochester, PA) finished second in the 100-meter final, and the UM 4×400-meter relay finished fourth in the Championship of America final at the Penn Relays Carnival in Philadelphia, PA.
Williams, ranked fourth in the nation in the 100-meters, posted a time of 10.25 seconds in the 100-meter final. Williams was edged out at the finish by the nation’s top-ranked sprinter, Muna Lee of LSU, who finished first in a time of 10.23 seconds.
The Hurricanes’ fourth ranked 4×400-meter relay of senior All-American Jamillah Wade (Philadelphia, PA), freshman All-American Charlette Greggs (Miami Northwestern), junior All-American Kitoya Carter (Miami Northwestern) and freshman All-American Dominique Darden (Harrisburg, PA) finished fourth in the Championship of America final with a time of 3:34.36.
The Penn Relays is the final tune-up for the Hurricanes prior to the BIG EAST Outdoor Track and Field Championships, May 2-4, in Storrs, CT. Miami is looking to win its third consecutive BIG EAST Outdoor title and it fifth title in the last six seasons.
