Mulvaney Named To All-Academic Team

Coral Gables, FL (hurricanesports.com) – University of Miami junior Matt Mulvaney (South Hadley, MA) has been named to the 2002 United States Cross Country Coaches Association All-Academic Team.
Mulvaney is one of 44 student-athletes selected for the All-Academic team and maintains a 3.391 grade point average in Music Business/Entertainment Industries. He is one of five BIG EAST runners to make the squad including John Bitok (Syracuse), Adrian Blincoe (Villanova), Tyler McCabe (Providence) and Adam Sutton (Providence).
Mulvaney was the Hurricanes’ top finisher in five of six meets in 2002 including a victory at the UM Tri-Meet on October 19. He finished 20th at the BIG EAST Cross Country Championships and earned All-South Region honors with a 15th-place finish at the NCAA South Region Cross Country Championships in Knoxville, TN.
Additionally, the Hurricanes men’s cross country team garnered All-Academic distinction by the USCCCA with a 3.12 team GPA.
