UM Seeded No. 1 At BIG EAST Women's Golf Championships.

Coral Gables, FL (hurricanesports.com) – The University of Miami women’s golf team will the top-seed at the inaugural BIG EAST Women’s Golf Championship, April 21-22, in Notre Dame, IN.
The remaining three teams competing for the first-ever BIG EAST women’s title will be No. 2 seed Notre Dame, third-seeded Georgetown and fourth-seeded Boston College.
The 54-hole event will be held at the par-71, 6,744-yard Warren Golf Course. The first and second rounds will be played on April 21, with the third and final round taking place on April 22.
The Hurricanes have been led this season by the duo of sophomore Tina Miller and junior Camilla Hilland.
Miller has been the Hurricanes top player during the spring season recording one victory and two second-place finishes in four events. Her win came at the first event of the spring, the UCF Kat Invitational in Orlando, FL. She finished with a two round total of 145 (76-79) defeating Hilland by one stroke. Her 74.0 stroke average is best on the team this spring. Overall she has six top-20 finishes in eight events, including four top-10’s. Her season scoring average of 75.3 ranks second on the team.
Hilland, who qualified for the NCAA Regionals as an individual last season, has competed in seven events this season recording six top-20 finishes, including four top-10’s and one victory. Her win came at the John Kirk/Lady Panther Intercollegiate in Stockbridge, GA during the fall season. She leads the team with a 75.0 stroke average.
As a team the Hurricanes have finished in the top-5 of four events this season, including a third-place finish at the Ryder/Florida Women’s Collegiate Golf Championship, April 4-6, in Miami Lakes, FL.
