From Guillermo Alvarez: Hialeah,Fl.: Gentlemen, even in defeat you shine! In the face of not only losing a big game, but in also losing a friend and teammate (Willis McGahee)to injury, you have acted with a class and dignity that makes me so proud to be a Hurricane fan, that I find myself wondering what next year holds for you.Rest assured,if you play and act like you did this year, you will be back at the big game next year.I am a single parent, with two little boys, ages 10 and 5,but I’m already telling them that the University of Miami is the place for them. Thank you for making this past season very memorable for my boys and especially for me.GO CANES!!!!
From Shaun Wright: Cross, South Carolina: Congrat’s to your success,I am a High football coach at Timberland High School. I am the offensive Coor. Was a Cane fan for as long as I can rember. I would really like to visit sometime because I want to pattern everything I do after you guys. Coach Coker has really been a light for every coach on every level of how to approach a game and practice. I hope you all have addressed all your needs in the recruiting process. It’s funny how when you guys lose it effects me like when I lose. I’m only 26 years old but I love football. We have the same colors you guys do and I have encouraged the head coach to go with the white helmets next year. I’m just wondering if you all will be able to replace Andre with another reciever of his size and caliber. I hope it isn’t long before you all can celebrate another Championship. I would really like to see what you guys do in the off season. I want to start an off season program that will build the kind of speed you all are lookin!g for. I want to know how Mcgahee trained. I want to build a sand pit for my running backs but I need to know a little more about it. I know you guys are busy but we are in the same line of work. I heard Coach Coker at our clinic and I am sold about what you guys do. Good luck in the near futurea and take care of the Gators first.
From Patsy Loughman: Jacksonville, Florida: I will be there for you again this year. I was at the Rose Bowl year before last and felt like I had died and gone to heaven. I was at the Fiesta Bowl and nearly died at the end of the game. We were all devastated sitting behind those obnoxious red-neck OS fans. I thought Miami fans were bad. It was a devastating loss, but I wouldn’t trade being there for all the money in the world. I love you guys and know you will come back for me and the thousands of ‘Cane fans all over the country. Thank you for the good times. Good luck, stay healthy and God be with you all.
Shane Eaker: Gadsden, Alabama: You guys are the real champs! Keep your heads up because we will be back next year to win another title!Everyone everywhere that watched the game knows that we won the game.Just use it as motivation in the off season and during next season to get back and win it. I am behind you guys 100% and I will be down there cheering my head off against the Gators sept. 6.
Joaquin Fermoselle: Coral Gables FL 33146: We won the National Title 2003 for the time it took a second opportunity flag to come crumpling down on the field. We are bigger than that and will be back with Mr. Ibis fuming!!!
Go ‘Canes! 2003 will do it for me! Do it for all of us.
Jack
randy kidd: haslett, mi: hello miami hurricanes football squad,

From Nick Rudomin : Bolton, Massachusetts: Dear Hurricanes,Now being from MA I am supposed to be an eagles fan, but I’m not!!! Thank you for all the memerable moments this year. Thank you for beating the Eagles so i can yet again laugh at my schoolmates. I have been a fan of the hurricanes since I ever started watching college football. I am a linebacker/gaurd for my high school, and some day I wish to feel the grass in the orange bowl. I stayed up all night watching the fiesta bowl, every second of the game I saw. Now i am a brutally honest guy, but that pass interference call was cheap. I was so annoyed with that call that I nearlly beat up my dad. I know in my heart that you all are the national champions. A lot of the players that I have grown found of and do my school papers on are going pro, and I wish you all the best of luck. My best paper in English was about Ken Dorsey, and now I will have to focus my papers on another hurricane. I know that where ever people may be next year, they will be succsessful. I am a loyal hurricanes fan, and will be forever. Good luck next season.
Hurricanes rule, sincerly,Nick Rudomin
Diane Haws : Coral Springs, Florida: Dear Canes,Thanks for an absolutely fantastic season! It was a great ride! Your fans love each and every one of you, and to us you are #1!You showed true sportsmanship, good character, and class! UM is the best!(and we’ll be back, bigger, better, and stronger!).Thanks Brett…I just had back surgery before the last home game, and it was so nice of you to take a minute to say hi to the fans in the handicapped section…it meant alot to us! Thanks Coach Coker, Ken, Kellen, Willis, Andre, ….and also very important, those of you on the team who don’t get much recognition, but are ready to step in when your TEAM needs you!I am looking forward to our next season! I hope you all realize how much you mean to your fans…you give us a strong sense of community and pride! And so, the legend continues…
Don DeNyse : Albany, NY: You guys got ripped in the Fiesta Bowl. Show the nation what Miami Hurricane football is all about by winning the title game next year.
paul s. richardson: miami, fla: i think the university got jobbed i will always think and know we got jobbed but we know who the real champions are!!!!
De’Shawn : Atlanta, GA: I want to congratulate you all on a GREAT 2002 season! As far as I’m concerned, you all are the 2002 national champions! You were cheated, and everyone, including Ohio State and official Terry Porter knows that. It simply was a HORRIBLE call. Anyway, I know that you all will be good enough to win the national championship again for seasons to come, including the 2003 season. I have been a fan since 1985, and I’m still a HUGE fan. I will be visiting Miami, FL just to stand in the Orange Bowl and shout “GO UM!” Miami Hurricanes FOREVER!
From Eric Rivera: Bronx, NY: Keep the Faith. We will be back in 2003!! You guys rock.

EMILIO A PERERA SR.: WEST PALM BEACH FLA.: WE WILL HANE ANOTHER UNDEFEATED SEASON THE START OF ANOTHER NEW RECORD SEE YOU ALL AT THE PALM BEACH CANEFEST. GO CANES.
Juan Gomez: Miami: Guys, players, coaches, staff: you are the best, the ones who did it and are leaving, and the ones who did it and still got time with us.Losing to that referee wasn’t so good, it hurt all of us, but continue to be the bad asses that you are, hate the other teams, think of how much it hurt us, and give us another TRUE Championship … we can’t get enough wins, never !!! THE STREAK CONTINUES !!!
Alonso Rojas : Miami Florida: Yo wuts up canes man last year was a big upset but we were robedd you football and playin footbal for u guys is my one and only thing i want to do i hope that one year i can kick for the university of miami i am the kicker of the coral reef 6a football team under a great coach coach ponce in miami I hope to see u guys do real good and win a championship that was that belongs to u thnxs for ur time

Asbury Broadnax IV: Merritt Island, Florida: 2003- LEAVE NO DOUBT.
There is no program that’s stonger…. we may be down… but we’re far from out.
My heart, my love, my passion, my strength is with you. Work hard… play hard brothers.
Charles Pharms: Toronto, Ontario: That was a valent effort last year guys. Keep your heads up and remember, ” All it takes, is all you’ve got!” Good Luck AND GO GET THAT RING! GOD BLESS YOU ALL.
Mark Hallum : Lawrenceville, Georgia: I would just like you to know I still lvoe the Miami Hurricanes! Ohio State should have lost and Miami should have had their 2nd consectuive title. Ohio State was given the title. GO HURRICANES!!
Sonny Sroud: Jacksonville, FL: WE WILL BE BACK!! WE’RE STILL PROUD!!
Fernando Echols : Hampton, Ga: First of all, congratulations on another great season. i was cheering for u guys all season. i love all u guys. Im 16 and play high school ball for the Lovejoy Wildcats. i play running back. My all time dream is to play for Miami even if i dont make it to the pros. It would make all my friends jealous if i could receive a letter from one of the team members or make an appearance at my school. Everybody have a great rest and speedy recovery. Tell McGahee to get rest and recover. i want to see him back running people over. Thanks for your time. #45, Fernando
Terrance Jefferson : Norfolk, Va.: I truly love!! The University of Miami football. I’ve been a fan ever since the age of 13. I am with you guys until the end. I hate you guys couldn’t pull it out against Ohio State, but It’s all good. I still love you guys because in my mind, there’s only one real championship team and that’s you guys. I have one question. Is Kellen Winslow returning for 2003? I hope spring training goes well, and I’ll be waiting for the fall so we can show America we aint going NOWHERE!!!! Canes forever.
Yours Truly, Terrance Jefferson
mike, davis : macon georgia: HI UM, YOU GUY’S WILL BE BACK,I WOULD LIKE TO SEE YOU PLAY THE KID FROM LINCOLN HIGH SCHOOL,THREAT.THAT KID CAN REALLY PLAY.I’VE SEEN HIM PLAY 45 + TIMES.GIVE HIM A CHANCE.YOU WOULD SEE A STAR IN THE FUTURE. MIKE

Fl.: me and my best friend are your biggest fans for our age.My volleyball coach is an ohio state fan and me and my friend always make fun of his team because there cheaters.U had a great season and deserved the national championship. I thought u had won, at first when they hurt McGahee there were tears in my eyes but i held them back so no one at our party would see,but later when they hurt dorsey i couldn’t hold them back. I’m only 13 and no more about this team then anyone else. For my 13th birthday me and my friends were on the field for the virgina tech game. Next year we will teach ohio state a lesson and teach them how they should of lost last year. I will be cheering u on from north carolina. GO CANES!!! your best fan,Jordan Herrera
Shani: San Francisco, CA: Sherko,Remember me? I still think about you and how I’d love to hear you play the viola someday.
John Gonzalez: Miami, Fl: First of all I want to begin by saying that I have been attending the OB since I was five years old. I have grown up a passionate Canes fan but im not an obnoxious one either. The passion I feel for this team is so much that when we lost in Tempe, I felt not only the pain of not only losing the title game, but I know everyones heart and well wishes went out to Willis and his brutal injury. I felt worse for him and his future and I only wish him the best. From a football standpoint, the desire and committment to win at this program can not be matched or challenged, we just had a bad break on January 3rd. We will learn from our mistakes and we still are the most feared team in college football. To all the Canes players, I wish you guys the best of luck in the upcoming year, and lets win not only with great atheletes, but with the intangibles that seperate us from the rest of the country, class and dignity, And never, ever give in. You guys are the best and I !can not wait to hear “LETS GO CANES” before you run out of the tunnel and through the smoke at the OB.
Hurricane Stu : Ft. Lauderdale FLL: You guys are the best! You came back from adversity like all great teams do….and won the game. The world knows the truth…and this tough loss can only galvanize the team, as I believe it has for the fans!
I for one, have always been a Canes fan since 1975, win or lose….although I sleep a heck of a lot better when UM wins!
Stuart
Drew Luckett: Centerville,Tennessee: Hey,you guys did great this year. You beat FL,which i hate ,and UT,which i dont like either. You guys really won your 2nd tittle in a row i have had a millon Tennesse fans tell me that. You loose Dorsey and Johnson ,but you guys still have Winslow and, Berlin to help you win another tittle. Larry Cooker is the best coach i have seen in a while. The day after you guys lost the bowl i was still wearing jerseies and tee shirts all over the place. I even whore Miami stuff to the Tenn game i went to. Well i will let yall get back to traning and i will see you guy next year in the national tittle game.
Andre Stubbs : Miami , Florida: I know that yall gonna make it back up on top cause you’ll have more than enough good talent to not make it back another year and this time win it. I think that every body on this years squid is going to have a breakout year my homeboy “Nat” Javon Natton and my dog “Nuk” Darnell Jenkons
Maija Thomas: Coral Springs, FL: Just to let all of you know that my whole family (which includes one of your biggest fans – my U.S. Army Ranger son) and I are so proud of each and every one of you. I choose not to look back needlessly, but I do choose to look forward to the 2003 season. We go to all of the home games and have been very greatful for the tremendous football teams we have been privileged to watch over the years. You have fans all over the U.S. My son wears his Hurricane colors proudly. No matter where he goes around the world, he finds hundreds of Hurricane fans from around the U.S. Most of the fans come from the cities and seem to readily relate to you. With the CLASS that all of you have exhibited in the past number of years, there is no doubt in my mind that UM is back, and no one will work harder that UM. You are truly a Championship Team! God Bless all of you.
Diego Gonzalez: Springfield,VA: Wuz up Hurricanes,
well first off i’m a Freshman at lee high school.i thought that because it was my first year at high school i should playa sport. So i choose football, and I LOVE IT as a freshman i played tightend, safty, outside linebacker. Then like during practice i got moved up to Varsity. I just want to tell you thati watched you guys play everytime u had a game…..i bet theres nothing better then to making a tackleor making a catch…well i’m writing from class from one of my class,so i’ll writye u again soon…to tel u more about me.Peace
johnny boy: canyon country, ca: be back we never left. born and raised in california. been a fan since i was 5 years old. I’m 25 and I represent out in california. I went to the rose bowl game and sat behind the nebraska band wearing a NEBRASKA SUCKS shirt, fellow hurricane fans thought I was crazy but i’m die hard all the way. stay focused on what must be done cuz I hate fsu and florida, cuz when you think of footballin florida only the Canes come to mind! buckeys got a lucky break on some bullshit call, no matter the next national chamionship will be that much sweeter. P.S. while i was in line at the rose bowl an old couple from nebraska saw my shirt and wanted to take a picture so i told them only if they frame it. needless to say 20 hurricane fans jumped in on the picture. ONE GOAL staying number #1 in the nation. bring back the title.
Mikey Franks : Fulton, Ms: Hey, my name is Mikey Franks and I’m in the 9th grade at IAHS in Fulton, MS. I am hoping to earn a starting spot on varsity next year at wide receiver and i was wondering if you could send me some tips and drills to help me improve my self at wide receiver. Thanks
Eliseo “EZE” Duran, Miami Beach, Florida: Hey Hurricanes, we all know who reallywon that championship game!AnywayI’m really proud of the team, and iknow that next year will be our year!Just think will start the season inLouisiana and end the season in Louisiana. I’m a season ticketholder and attend all home games!I can’t wait till September 6th.GO HURRICANES!!
Brian Krasnow, Mt. Kisco, NY 10549: Fellas,
I graduated UM in 1995 and am a huge fan. I live in NY and want you to know that I have turned many of my friends into loyal UM football fans and we get together for every televised game. I travel to most of the games up in the Northeast (Rutgers, BC etc.) and want you to know that New York has your back. I bleed orange and green and look forward to next year’s team. We got screwed by the zebras in the Fiesta, but I hope that next year you come out hungry and flex your muscles.
Loyal fan,Brian
Brandon Pugh : Knoxville, TN: Dear ‘Canes,
I got mt first opportunity to see my favorite football team play this year when you fellas came to Knoxville and beat up on these sorry Vols. I just wanted to let you all know how much of a fan I am and how happy I have been every Saturday for the past three seasons. Thank you for your 34 wins, your championship, and those sharp green jerseys. Now here’s to another streak! M-I-A-M-I Fight, Fight, Fight!!!! Brandon Pugh
Jeff Mullendore: Rockford, AL: Just wanted to let you guys know how proud we are. To be in the National Championship Game 3 years in a row (okay at least you should have been) is an outstanding accomplishment. Even though the score didn’t reflect it, you are National Champions again in our book.
Jeff and Carol Mullendore
Kris Grochowski: Auburn, NH: I’m still hurting from the loss! Step it up Canes!!! Lets see the hunger to dominate for the 2003 season.
Go Canes!!!
lee jenkins : lake mary fl: you guys are a class act !!!you had a great season ! best of luck in 2003. looks like national signing day was very good. caint wait till the spring game GO CANES!!!!!!!!!
Zac Fleisher: Davie, Florida: To all of the players and fan-Even though we lost many wonderful players, we have gained just as many. As a devoted fan and a hopeful “future ‘cane” I would like to say welcome to the new players on the team. And to all of the veteran players and fans- We’ll get those Buckeyes when they’re least expecting and where it counts- In Ohio.
Dr. William R. Renuart: Miami, Fl: The coaches and players aof the UofM football team make me proud to be an alumnus. Yes, I love winning, but I love it much more because of the FIRST CLASS group of players and coaches that you are. You behavior on and off the field surprises me many times. You tend to be humble, soft spoken, and always polite. Gee, you all could teach many professional athletes a thing of two! This past football season was incredible. I never imagined you would go l2-l. Yes, I really felt bad for you when you lost the Fiesta Bowl. However, I cannot think of any team that lost with more courage, self control, heart, and CLASS. i AM VERY PROUD OF YOU! Yes, you will be back! Yes, you will be one of the best teams in the nation next year. Yes, you will give the very best of yourselves and be the BEST respresenting your individual selves, the team, and the University of Miami. G O C A N E S !
Chris Smelcer: Seymour, Tennessee: To all the Coaches and Players- Hey guys, I am a true Miami Hurricane fan. I was even a fan back when we lost to Tennessee 35-7 in 1988. Miami was the first school that sent me a letter during my senior football season in high school. That was a great day! Anyway, I just wanted to say that not many teams could make a run at a sixth national title during their “rebuilding” year. I know you all will be their again next year and I look foward to it already. I know Coach Coker will probably not be reading this, but I just wanted to tell him that he has done a great job. I would love to have had the opportunity to play under him (Last year would have been my senior year). Thanks to everyone for a great year, and let’s win one in baseball.Chris Smelcer
Eliseo “EZE” Duran : El Paso, Texas: Just work hard in the off season andi know the hurricane nation will winanother national championship in 2003.Or should i say we will win it onJanuary 4th, New Orleans. God Bless.
Dean Bohlman : Dallas: I was in Tempe to see the game. Although it was one of thee most difficult momments in life to watch us lose, You should all hold your heads high. We fought to the bitter end. More than ever I am proud to be a Cane. There is nothing else I would rather be. Canes will always be my heros.
Beware college football we will be back, and Hurricane warnings are still in effect.
Dean B.
