Student Tickets Still Available for Villanova and Virginia Tech Men's Basketball Games

Feb. 5, 2003

The Convocation Center Men’s Basketball Student Ticket Policy added some new kinks into the policy for all University of Miami students. Beginning with the men’s basketball game on Saturday, February 8th, UM students that did not reserve a seat for the men’s basketball game will now have a chance to ‘stand-by’ for a ticket. The Athletic Department will notify students 10-minutes prior to tip-off if any additional tickets that did not go on sale will be turned over to any UM student wanting to attend the men’s basketball game. Students are encouraged to go to www.hurricanesports.com 24-hours prior to the basketball game to gauge the number of remaining tickets.

This new policy will be for UM students only on a first-come, first serve basis. A separate line will be created for students wanting to ‘walk up’ to the game to see if they can get a ticket.

See below for additional changes to the men’s basketball ticket policy:

MEN’S BASKETBALL STUDENT TICKETS TRANSFERABLE

All Students with tickets should plan to be seated in the Convocation Center at least 10 minutes prior to tip-off!!!!

Student tickets for a Men’s Home Basketball Games reserved through the EASY system reservations process and not picked-up by the designated deadline or any student tickets available due to ticket reservations through EASY not reaching the 950 capacity will be made available to students on a first come, first serve basis beginning on the business day following the deadline for ticket pick-up for reservations made on EASY. These tickets will be made available to students until the day of the game or until all 950 student tickets are distributed, whichever comes first. These tickets will be available at the Convocation Center Box office between 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m., Monday-Friday.

STAND-BY TICKET POLICY CREATED FOR MEN’S HOME BASKETBALL GAMES

On game day, if all of the student tickets have not been distributed then students will be allowed to pick-up a ticket at the Convocation Center Box Office Student Window. If all 950 student tickets have been distributed and the game is not sold out then students who did not receive a ticket and would like to attend the game can line-up in the “STAND-BY LINE” at the Convocation Center Student Entrance not more than 1˝ hours prior to game time to have a chance of being admitted to the game. Ten (10) minutes prior to tip-off any unsold tickets will be made available for students at no charge. Seats for “STAND-BY” tickets will not be for the student sections.
