Hurricanes Tackle US Open

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. (www.hurricanesports.com) – – Several University of Miami swimmers recently competed in the three-day US Open event in Minneapolis, Minn.
The most impressive performance by a Hurricane came from Manon Van Rooijen, who placed third in the 200-meter freestyle with a time of 2:03.05 on Friday. The Dutch Olympian also placed seventh in the 100 free (56.78) on day three and eighth in the 200 IM 2:25.07).
In addition, Van Rooijen anchored a strong Hurricane relay unit that saw several swimmers place. The UM relay squad of Van Rooijen, Christine Williams, Megan Kinsella, and Katalin Ferenczi placed seventh in the 400-meter freestyle relay.
