Coral Gables, FL (hurricanesports.com) – Head women’s golf coach Lela Cannon announces the signing of Tiffany Prats (Williston, FL) to a national letter of intent to attend the University of Miami next fall. Prats selected Miami over Florida, Louisville, Tulsa and Arizona State.

“I am very excited that Tiffany (Prats) has decided to become a Hurricane,” said Cannon. “She is an extremely talented golfer and one of the nation’s top junior players.”

A three-time Gainesville Sun first-team All-Area selection, Prats won her third consecutive District III Championship in this season and finished fourth at the State Championship. She shot a 66 at the District Championship winning by seven strokes and leading Williston High School to the District title.

“Lela Cannon is a great coach, and once I visited the campus I knew that I wanted to come to the University of Miami,” said Prats. “I got along really well with the other players on the team, and I was very impressed with athletic department’s support system.”

Prats won the Florida Junior Golf Association Halloween Classic at Crystal River, FL earlier this season and has posted nine top-10 finishes. She is currently ranked second in the state of Florida by the FJGA.
