CORAL GABLES, Fla.–The Miami men’s tennis team completes day one of the UM Fall Classic at the Neil Schiff Tennis Center on the UM campus.
Newcomers Eric Hechtman (Miami, Fla.) and Tim Krebs (Eschborn, Germany) won both of their singles matches.
Hechtman defeated Jorge Escallon of South Florida in three sets 1-6, 6-3, 6-4 and Rodrigo Laub of Florida State 6-1, 7-5.
Krebs beat Renato Silveria of USF 7-6 (5), 6-4 and Chip Webb of FSU 6-3, 6-3.
Colin Purcell (Louisville, Ky.) beat Juan Barragan of USF in three sets 6-0, 0-6, 6-2.
Miami is back in action Sunday at 2 p.m. facing FAU in the UM Fall Classic.
