Men's Tennis Completes Day Two At The Gator Invitational

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The Miami men’s tennis team won five of its six single matches Saturday during Day Two of the Gator Invitational at Linder Stadium at the Ring Tennis Complex in Gainesville, Fla.
Todd Widom beat Rene-Charles Combette of Mississippi State by forfeit. Widom won the first set 6-1 and was up 1-0 in the second set before Combette retired.
Andrew Golub won a three set battle with Jerome Le Belicard (MSU). Golub fell the first set 6-4 before coming back to win the next two sets 7-6, 7-6.
Colin Purcell also came out on top after losing the first set 6-3 to Max Fomine (MSU). Purcell faught back and won the next two sets 6-4, 7-5.
Tim Krebs dropped Stefan Tell of Florida in straight sets, winning 6-1, 6-2.
Eric Hechtman won his second match of the weekend, beating Matt Armstrong (MSU) in straight sets 6-4, 6-1.
Golub and Hechtman teamed up to beat Armstrong (MSU) and Tell (UF) 8-4 in doubles action.
Miami will be back in action on Sunday, Sept. 29, facing host Florida at 10 a.m.
