UM's Hilland Third After Opening Round

Lexington, KY (hurricanesports.com) – University of Miami junior Camilla Hilland (Lommedalen, Norway) fired an opening round 72 and is tied for third-place at the Lady Kat Invitational in Lexington, KY.
Hilland, the 2002 NCAA Independent Player of the Year, trails the leader, Tennessee’s Jessica Shepley, by only three strokes. Shepley recorded a 3-under-par 69 on Friday to take the first round lead.
As a team the Hurricanes shot 307 and are tied for fifth with Louisville. Tennessee leads the team competition after posting a score of 290. Mississippi State shot an opening round 301 and is in second.
Miami senior Dominique Gagnon (La Romana, Dominican Republic) is in a tie for 20th after recording a 4-over-par 76. Junior Jazmin Cataldo recorded a first-round score of 78 and is in a tie for 30th.
Second round action will begin Saturday at 8:30 a.m.
