Williams Wins Two Gold Medals At World Championship Tune-Up

Nassua, Bahamas – University of Miami freshman Lauryn Williams (Rochester, PA) won the gold medal in the 100-meters with a time of 11.54 and ran the opening leg of the gold medal winning 4×100-meter relay at the Texaco Top Athletes Pre-World Meet at Thomas A. Robinson Stadium in Nassua, Bahamas.

Williams, the 2002 BIG EAST Champion, will now prepare for the 2002 IAAF World Junior Track and Field Championships, July 16-21, in Kingston, Jamaica. Williams will compete for the United States in the 100-meters and 4×100-meter relay.

Williams qualified for the United States Junior National team with a victory in the 100-meters at the USATF Junior National Championship held earlier this summer in Palo Alto, CA.
