Women's Tennis To Face FIU at NCAA Regionals.

Coral Gables, Fla. (www.hurricanesports.com) – The No. 32 University of Miami women’s tennis team (13-6) will travel to Florida to face No. 35 Florida International (19-6) at the NCAA Tennis Regionals Friday, May 10 in Gainesville, Fla.
Miami was an automatic tournament qualifier as they claimed their seventh BIG EAST Championship title in the last seven years knocking-off No.1 seeded Notre Dame 4-1 at the BIG EAST Championships in Coral Gables, Fla.
Regional host-school No. 1 Florida (19-1) will face the University of Central Florida (11-11) in the other first round matchup. The winner of that match will face the winner of the UM/FIU contest in the second round of the regionals.
The Hurricanes are 1-0 against FIU this season as they defeated the Golden Panthers 6-1 on February 13 at the University Park tennis courts.
Sixteen regional competitions will be conducted May 10-12 with the winner of each site advancing to the NCAA Division I Women’s Tennis Championships at the Taube Family Tennis Stadium in Stanford, California, hosted by Stanford University. The team championship will be held May 16-19.
The teams will play a single-elimination tournament at 16 first- and second-round sites (four teams at each site) and the finals site (16-team bracket) to determine the national champion.
