Larry Coker Throws Out First Pitch This Friday

University of Miami head football coach Larry Coker will throw out theceremonial first pitch this Friday night, as the University of Miamibaseball team takes on Long Beach State.

Long Beach State comes to MarkLight Stadium for a three-game series beginning Friday. Game times arescheduled for 7 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and 1 p.m. on Sunday.

Miami’s quest for supremacy in college football was put in the able hands ofone of the nation’s most accomplished assistant coaches when Larry Coker wasnamed the school’s 19th head football coach on February 3, 2001.

In hisfirst season as head coach, Larry Coker went on to guide his MiamiHurricanes to a 12-0 record, culminating the season with their 5th NationalChampionship. The Miami Hurricanes defeated Nebraska in the Rose Bowl 37-14.
