Catch Hurricane Baseball With Jim Morris

Coral Gables, Fla. (www.hurricanesports.com) – The 2002 season marks the sixth year ofthe Hurricane Baseball with Jim Morris, a weekly half-hour televisionprogram featuring the Jim Morris, head coach of the Hurricanes. Hosted byWPLG-Channel 10 Sportscaster Frank Forte, the program features players andcoaches from the Miami Hurricanes, as well as special guests from theAthletic Department and campus.
The show airs on WPLG-Channel 10 and on Fox Sports Net Florida on Saturdaysat 11:30 a.m. on Fox Sports Net Florida and Noon on WPLG-TV Channel 10.
Morris is in his ninth season as Head Coach at Miami and has compiled a411-134-1 (.754) record with the Hurricanes. He has guided UM to theCollege World Series in seven of his eight seasons in Coral Gables,including an NCAA-record six straight trips in his first six years. In2001, Morris’ club went 53-12 and won its final 17 games en route to the2002 College World Series title. The 12-1 victory over Stanford marked thesecond National Championship in the last three seasons after Morris’ 1999club claimed the title with a 6-5 win over rival Florida State.Additionally, Morris has been named the National Coach of the Year fivetimes by Baseball America in 1994 and Collegiate Baseball and the AmericanBaseball Coaches Association in 1999 and 2001.
Frank Forte has long been associated with the Hurricanes athletic programsand has been hosting its Coaches shows since the 1994 season. Forte, whojoined WPLG in 1981, also serves as the television play-by-play voice forHurricane football games on Fox Sports Net Florida.
