UM Golfers Fifth At State Championship

Miami Lakes, FL (hurricanesports.com) – The University of Miami women’s golf team fired an opening-round 311 and is in fifth-place at the Ryder/Florida Women’s Collegiate Golf Championships being held at Don Shula’s Hotel and Golf Club in Miami Lakes, FL.
Florida State leads the tournament after posting a first-round score of 293. Florida Atlantic, which finished in 13th-place last season, opened with a 304 and is in second-place. Defending champion Florida is third (305).
Florida Atlantic’s Jessica Polus leads the individual competition after registering a three-under-par 69 on Friday. UM sophomore Camilla Hilland (Lommedalen, Norway) opened with a two-under-par 70 and is just one stroke back. Florida State’s Kristin Tamulis is third (71).
Second-round action starts Saturday at 8:00 a.m. with Sunday’s final round beginning at 8:30 a.m. Admission is free.
