Women's 4x400-Meter Relay Provisionally Qualifies For NCAA's

Gainesville, FL (hurricanesports.com) – The University of Miami women’s 4×400-meter relay finished second with an NCAA provisional qualifying time of 3:34.21 Saturday at the Florida Relays, while senior Jennifer Geroux (Balto, MD) and junior Melissa Norris (Pembroke Pines, FL) qualified for the BIG EAST Championships in the 10,000-meters at the Raleigh Relays in Raleigh, NC.

The relay team of junior Saraque Whittaker (Ft. Lauderdale St. Thomas Aquinas), sophomore Kitoya Carter (Miami Northwestern), junior Jamillah Wade (Philadelphia, PA) and senior Wyllesheia Myrick posted the second fastest time in school-history and were just two one-hundredths of a second off the school-record of 3:34.19 set during the 2000 season.

At the Raleigh Relays, Geroux took 11th in the 10,000-meters with a BIG EAST qualifying time of 37:03.37 while Norris finished 22nd with a conference qualifying mark of 37:35.88.

Miami returns to action April 4-6 at the Texas Relays in Austin, TX.
