Women's Golf Travels To Waterlefe Invitational

Bradenton, FL (hurricanesports.com) – The University of Miami women’s golf team will travel to Bradenton, Florida to compete in the Waterlefe Invitational, March 18-19, at the Waterlefe Golf and River Club.

The tournament will consist of 36 holes on March 18 followed by 18 holes on March 19. The course is 6,015 yards and par 72.

The 14-team field includes 13 teams ranked among the top-100 in the nation by Golfweek. Miami, ranked 61st in the nation, will face the likes of No. 12 Michigan State, No. 32 Tulane, No. 36 Central Florida, host and No. 45 South Florida, No. 47 Louisville, No. 60 Iowa State, No. 75 Campbell, No. 76 College of Charleston, No. 82 Georgia State, No. 85 Yale, No. 90 Alabama-Birmingham and No. 93 Florida International. The field is rounded out by Southern Mississippi.

Miami has recorded second-place finishes in its last two tournaments this spring, the Lady Moc Classic and Peggy Kirk Invitational. The Hurricanes have been led this spring by freshman Tina Miller (Miami Archbishop Curley Notre Dame) who has finished no lower than sixth in Miami’s first three tournaments and has a team best 74.7 strokes per round average.
