-The University of Miami men’s basketball team received an invitation to the 65-team NCAA Championship Tournament. The Hurricanes (24-7, 10-6 BIG EAST) are seeded 5th and will face No. 12 seed Missouri (21-11, 9-7 Big Twelve) in the first round of the West Region on Thursday, March 14 at University Arena in Albuquerque, NM.

“This has been a team that throughout the season has set goals and played consistent basketball,” said head coach Perry Clark. ” Different guys have stepped up in different situations all season. I am pleased they have met their initial goal of reaching the NCAA Tournament. Now we look forward our next challenge of competing in the postseason.”

Miami is making its fifth appearance in the NCAA Tournament all-time, and its fourth appearance in the last five seasons. The Hurricanes’, who are making their sixth consecutive postseason appearance overall, recorded a school-record 24 wins this season.
