No. 35 Men's Tennis Defeats Florida A&M, 5-2.

Coral Gables, Fla. (www.hurricanesports.com) – The No. 35 University of Miami men’s tennis team defeated Florida A&M 5-2 Friday, March 2 at the Neil Schiff Tennis Center on the UM campus.
The Hurricanes (3-3) took two of three doubles matches and won four of six singles matches en route to their third win of the season.
Freshman Todd Widom led the Hurricanes defeating Lenin Mongerie in straight sets, 6-2, 6-2 at the No. 1 singles position.
At No. 2 singles play, senior Tomas Smid defeated Isaac Yarrell, 6-1, 6-2. Joel Berman recorded a 6-1, 1-6, 6-3 victory over Karreem Bennett at the No. 5 position.
At No. 6 singles, senior Tarik El Bassouni defeated Noel Wadawu in straight sets, 6-2, 6-4.
In doubles action, the duo of Tomas Smid and Todd Widom defeated Pfungwa Mahefu and Noel Wadawu 8-4 at the No. 2 position. At No. 3 doubles, Joel Berman and Jose Lieberman routed Karreem Bennett and Davin Russell 8-2.
The Hurricanes return to action as they host Wisconsin, Sunday, March 3 at 9:30 a.m. at the Neil Schiff Tennis Center on the UM campus.
