Women's Track Jumps To No. 12 In The Rankings

CORAL GABLES, FL (hurricanesports.com) – The University of Miamiwomen’s track and field team jumped four spots to No. 12 in the latestTrackwire.com Top 25 rankings.
The Hurricanes, who are tied with Colorado, Rice and Iowa State with13 points, are coming off a strong performance at the Illinois Women’sInvitational in Champaign, IL.
Freshman Lauryn Williams (Rochester, PA) won both the 60-meters and200-meters while All-American Kareen Clarke (Lithonic, GA) won the triplejump. Williams, who has the third fastest time in the NCAA, is undefeated inthe 60-meters this season. Clarke is also undefeated this season andcurrently has the third best mark in the nation in the triple jump.
All-American Wyllesheia Myrick (Miami Northwestern) set the UMrecord in the 400-meters last weekend and is currently ranked 11th in thenation in 200-meters.
UM returns to action on February 8-9 at the Armory CollegiateInvitational in New York, NY.
