Jan. 28, 2002

Luke DeBold is one of the top relievers coming out of the UM bullpen and was named the June 2001 Academic All-Star. The Systems Analysis major from Andrean, IN, played a vital role in Miami’s fourth National Championship.

Last season, DeBold recorded 44 relief appearances, which placed third all-time in a single season. His 100 career appearances places him fifth all-time at Miami entering the 2002 season.

DeBold’s 1.74 ERA in 2001 led all active relievers, plus he had an amazing 67-to-7 strikeouts to walks ratio. At the College World Series, DeBold recorded a 1.42 ERA appearing in all four games.
