Women's Tennis Hosts FAU

CORAL GABLES, Fla.-The No. 37-ranked Miami women’s tennis team will open the 2002 season playing host to Florida Atlantic Friday at 6 p.m. at the Neil Schiff Tennis Center.

The women’s tennis team is coming off an impressive 15-9 season and a NCAA Regional appearance. The Hurricanes finished the 2000-2001 campaign with a final national ranking of No. 37.

The Hurricanes have six letterwinners returning for the 2002, including senior Marcy Hora who finished last season with an overall singles record of 19-10.

Miami has three newcomers, including standout sophomore Mari Toro (Miami, Fla.). Toro had an impressive 11-5 fall season record and is currently ranked No. 69 in the nation.
