Senior Aaron Moser Leads Heptathlon After First Day Of Competition

MANHATTAN, KS (hurricanesports.com) – University of Miami seniorAaron Moser (Bonne Terre, MO is in first place in the heptathlon after thefirst day of competition at the Wildcat Heptathlon/Pentathlon in Manhattan,KS.

Moser, who recorded 3057 points during the day’s four events, leadsJeff Sanders, competing unattached, by 13 points heading into Sunday. Moser took the lead early winning the 60-meter dash with a time of6.96 and later extended his lead over the field with a second-place finishin the long jump (7.00m) and a third-place finish in the shot put (12.72m).Moser concluded the opening day with sixth-place finish in the high jump(1.88m/6-02.00).

Also taking part in the competition for Miami is senior Jabari Ennis(Jamaica). Ennis recorded 2688 points on day one and is in seventh-place. Competition concludes Sunday with the 60-meter hurdles, pole vaultand 1000-meter run.
