More messages to the National Champs

Jan. 8, 2002

Ted Hendricks, to Coach and National Championship Team: Congratulations on a “Class” National Championship. I was impressed with your execution on both sides of the ball and as individuals. Great Job. See you at the spring celebration.

Jim Jeffries, New Castle, IN to Underclassmen: Please stay! Do NOT go pro! Win a couple more championships and then make the huge bucks in the pros! Help build the dynasty!
toLarry Coker: Congrats Coach Coker! Believe it or not, there are Hurricane fans stuck here in Indiana. This was a great year for the Canes. Keep it up for next year. But, do it the right way!!!! Also, thank you for allowing me to have bragging rights in my family. Most of my family are Tarnished Dome fans (Notre Dame). While they were adding more tarnish to their dome with the joke of a coaching situation, the Canes were winning a championship! Thank you so much!!!! Go Canes! National Champs – Back to Back?

Ron Schaub, Washington PA tortin Bibla: My wife and I attended the Rose Bowl. We are loyal fans from Pittsburgh, PA. In my younger days I was a lineman. The way your line played throughout the year was dominating. Truly amazing. Your hard work and dedication is well appreciated by the fans. Best of luck in your future. Thank you for helping Miami return to the top where you belong.

Corey Enfield, nkton, ND to Reed, and the other seniors: Seniors Thanks for 4 great years you are the best group of players on and off the field. Congrats. Way to go, Good luck next year You made all Canes fans proud

Dave Mathews, Bradenton, FL to Najeh Davenport: Najeh,I know you couldn’t play for the NC because of an injury, but I would like to thank you for the tremendous effort you gave over the season. R.J. Ogren ’72, Lexington, Virginia to Larry Coker and Ken Dorsey: Incredible game! Congratulations to both of you and the coaches and the team. I supported Miami as a student when we lost most of our games and I’ve supported U of M ever since and now ….WOW….number five and under the best coach ever. Coach, I hope you will be with UM forever.

Troy Lock, Madison,IN to Ken Dorsey: Hey Ken I think after that first interception you threw you were nothing but money. I am glad you are staying next year because they need you leadership for the next season. I think you and Andre both deserved the MVP award because you too played excellent games. You guys are awesome!!!! #1 Canes
Andre Johnson: Hey Andre I really didn’t know how fast and athletic you were until the national title game, and ever since that game I think you are one of the greatest recievers at Miami already in you young career. I hope you improve and stay at miami because I would like them to win another national title. By the way you killed Nebraska by yourself and you deserved that MVP.

Josh Frank, Potomac, MD to All departing players (seniors and underclassmen): Sorry I won’t get to see you guys play in person when I get down there to school next fall (I’m a high school senior), but good job and congrats on this great win and great season. Thanks for all you’ve done for the school and good luck in the pros.

Marta Prieto, : Miami Lakes/Fl to the entire team: I just want to congratulate all of you for a championship very well deserved. All the exhausting practices and each player’s commitment paid off, and being the national champs was very worth it.
