Ken Dorsey Chat Wrap
Dec. 6, 2001
Ken Dorsey: Good morning everyone! What’s on your mind?
Larry (miami): Will you be watching the Tennessee-LSU game with teammates and coaches or do you want to watch the game by yourself?
Ken Dorsey: I’m going to be in New York so I will watch by myself.
Phil/ NJ: How satisfying was it to embarass Washinton and Syracuse with dominating margins of victory and silence all the doubters this year of not only you but the team as a whole?
Ken Dorsey: It felt good to quiet the critics a little bit. There are so many of them when you play for Miami. It feels good to perform and play your best.
Mike, Boston: What subject is your toughest final in this semester?
Ken Dorsey: My Management class. One essay question, four problems and 38 multiple choice. I think I did pretty well actually.
Josh Foster: What is the toughest thing about being a big time college quarterback?
Ken Dorsey: Just the learning to deal with different situations that arise in being a major college player. Dealing with criticism and even the good things.
Jim Short (Port St. Lucie): Ken, do you feel that playing in the Rose Bowl gives you a home field type advantage over the QB’s from Tennessee, Nebraska, Oregon or any other team that you may face in the championship game?
Also, the championship game is the opportunity that you most likely expected to show your home state why you chose to go to Miami (and thanks for that).
Ken Dorsey: Personally, I might. Me and D.J. Williams. But for me, yes. It will be a great chance for the West Coast guys to play in front of family.
Ben (Miami): Who do you hate more, the Noles or the Gators? Go Canes!!!
Ken Dorsey: Tough to say.. both are great teams. Before I had played FSU I would have said Florida but they both are big time rivals. It’s probably a coin toss!
Joe (Pasadena, CA): Ken! What kind of music do you listen to bro?
Ken Dorsey: I have my CD player with me and it’s a mix of Dave Matthews and some random stuff.
Josh Foster: Is your favorite receiver on the team Shockey because it seems like you force it in to him sometimes even when he is not open?
Ken Dorsey: He’s a great player and we try to get him the ball as much as possible.
Husker Trent: Ken, who would you most like to play in the Rose Bowl? Tennessee, Colorado, or Nebraska?
Ken Dorsey: Doesn’t really matter. We just want the chance to prepare. We are excited to have the chance to play there.
Dan Higgins (Klamath Falls OR): Should you win the Heisman trophy this year?
Ken Dorsey: I think a lot of guys are deserving of it. This year, everyone says no one has stepped up and taken it. I don’t believe that. It’s just guys are playing at a different level this year. A bunch of guys are stepping up.
ctruley(Orlando): How do you manage to keep all the receivers happy, and what is the most difficult throw for you to make?
Ken Dorsey: The best part is they are all young guys and are just happy to be playing. They have waited their turn and doing that makes the transition easier.
BuffsFan: Ken, who’s your favorite sportscenter anchor?
Ken Dorsey: Probably Stuart Scott!
Hollywood, FL: Aren’t you a little disappointed that you won’t be playing the Gators for the national championship? It would be nice to see you deflate Spurrier again.
Ken Dorsey: Yeah, but we are excited we get to play them again next year. We know whoever we play will be very deserving.
Thanks for your questions and I hope you guys get to watch the game!! Take care guys!
