Women's Tennis Has A Positive Day At The Gator Fall Classic.

CORAL GABLES, Fla.–The Miami women’s tennis team won four of six singles matches and both doubles matches in the first day of the Gator Fall Classic in Gainesville, Fla. Friday afternoon.

Mari Toro defeated Jennifer Sinclair of UCF in straight sets (6-3, 6-3) in Flight A singles. Toro will face Leigh Bradwell of Kentucky Saturday morning.

In Flight B singles freshman Staci Stevens defeated Amira Samara of UCF 7-5, 6-1, she will play Alena Dvorakova of FAU in the next round.

After winning their first round matches, UM teammates Sihem Bennacer and Abby Smith will face each other in round two.

Bennacer defeated Stephanie Beaulieu of FAU, 6-1, 6-2, while Smith downed Ashlee Callahan of USF 6-4, 6-4.

Miami will return to action Saturday morning.
