Coral Gables, Fla. – (www.hurricanesports.com) – Miami volleyball looksto extend a three-match win streak in Tallahassee tonight at 7 p.m. against FloridaA&M.

The Hurricanes (6-4) have won nine of their last ten games: 3-1 against Jacksonville,3-0 against Middle Tennessee State and 3-0 at Florida Memorial. During that span,Miami outscored its opponents by 92 kills (295 to 203).

Powering the Miami attack is junior outside hitter Marcela Gamarra (Medellin,Colombia). Gamarra leads the team in attacks (306) and kills (153) averaging 4.37kills per game with an attack percentage of .405.

Two other UM players currently have an attack percentage above 30%: freshman outsidehitter Valeria Tipiana (Lima, Peru) with 70 kill in 154 attempts (.344) and freshmansetter Mallorey James (Tucson, Ariz.) with 23 kills in 47 attempts (.340).

After Monday night’s match against the Rattlerettes of FAMU, Miami remains inTallahassee to battle rival Florida State on Tuesday night at 7:30 p.m. The UM-FSUmatch will be televised by the Sunshine Network.

The Hurricanes play at Florida International on October 5th to complete a four-matchroad swing. The match was rescheduled in the wake of the terrorist attacks onSeptember 11th.

Miami’s next home match is against the Tulsa Golden Hurricane on October 11that 7 p.m.
