Women's Cross Country Wins FIU Invitational

Miami, FL (hurricanesports.com) – Senior Jennifer Geroux (Balto, MD) finished second in a time of 19:43.85 to lead the University of Miami women’s cross country team to a first-place finish at the FIU Invitational held at Tamiami Park in Miami, FL.

Geroux has been the Hurricanes top finisher in all three races this season.

The Hurricanes had five runners finish in the top-10 individually including senior Melissa Norris (Pembroke Pines, FL) who finished second (20:27.75), junior Megan Dwyer who finished fifth (21:12.24), freshman Marilyn Ruiz (Ft. Lauderdale St. Thomas Aquinas) who finished seventh (21:32.54) and freshman Lauren Diaz who took 10th (21:35.89).

Miami returns to action on October 6th with the Disney Invitational in Orlando, FL.
