BIG EAST All-Stars Conclude Foreign Tour 6-0

Renningen, Germany – The BIG EAST Women’s Basketball All-Star Team, under the direction of Syracuse head coach Marianna Freeman, concluded its exhibition tour of Germany with a 6-0 record following a 103-57 win over Ludwigsburg/Malmsheim on Monday.
The BIG EAST team used a strong defensive effort marked by steals and fast break layups to earn the final victory. Notre Dame’s Ericka Haney recorded her fifth double-figure scoring game of the tour with a team-high 18 points. Rasheedah Brown of St. John’s added 15 points and four assists. Seton Hall’s Leslie Ardon had a 10-point, 10-rebound double-double. Julie McBride of Syracuse led the assist column with seven.
Haney finished as the team’s top scorer averaging 13.0 points. Georgetown’s Rebekkah Brunson, the 2000-01 BIG EAST Rookie of the Year, was the top rebounder (6.2). Ardon was second in scoring (11.5) and rebounding (5.7).
The All-Stars will spend Tuesday sightseeing in Munich before returning to Boston on Wednesday.
