Coral Gables, Fla. (www.hurricanesports.com) — – The University of Miami (41-12) heads into the final weekend of the regular season against New York Tech holding the No. 1 ranking in the Baseball America and Baseball Weekly/ESPN Coaches polls. Additionally, the Hurricanes moved to No. 2 in the Collegiate Baseball poll.

For the fourth consecutive week, Baseball America has had a different No. 1-ranked team atop its poll, led by most-recent Miami. Southern California (35-16) comes in at No. 2

For the second consecutive week, UM was ranked atop the Baseball Weekly/ESPN Top 25 College Coaches Poll. Like Baseball America, prior to last week, the Hurricanes were last atop of the Coaches poll following 1999. Miami is receiving 996 points with 29 of 41 possible first-place votes. Southern California was No. 2 with 977 points and nine first-place votes. Notre Dame (#4), Nebraska (#5) and Tulane (#7) were the other schools to receive at least one first-place vote.

Collegiate Baseball newspaper had Miami ranked No. 4 last week, and bumped the Hurricanes up two spots to a season-high No. 2 behind top-ranked Southern California.
