UM Women's Tennis Headed To Gainesville For NCAA Regionals

Coral Gables, FL (www.hurricanesports.com) – The 36th-ranked University of Miami women’s tennis team (15-8) will face 40th-ranked Arkansas (9-12) in the first round of the NCAA Women’s Tennis Regional, May 12-13, in Gainesville, FL.

The Hurricanes are seeded second in the regional, which includes host and No. 1 seed Florida (20-2) and fourth-seeded Bethune-Cookman. The winner of the four-team regional will advance to the Sweet Sixteen, May 17-25, in Stone Mountain, GA.

Miami, Florida and Arkansas were all at-large selections while Bethune-Cookman earned an automatic berth to the NCAA Championships as the tournament champion of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference.

The Hurricanes are making their sixth consecutive trip to the NCAA Tournament and their 15th overall since 1982.
