UM Relays Conclude Competition At Penn Relays

Philadelphia, PA – The University of Miami men’s 4×100-meter relay finished third while the women’s 4×400-meter relay finished seventh at the 107th Penn Relays Carnival in Philadelphia, PA.

The men’s 4×100-meter relay of junior Gus Martin (Miami Northwestern), senior Shane Brown (Jamaica), senior Joseph Mbayen (France) and senior Daryl Jones (Dallas, TX) finished with a time of 40.87 and enters next weekend’s BIG EAST Championships in Piscataway, NJ as the No. 1 seed.

The women’s 4×400-meter relay of junior Jenise Winston (League City, TX), sophomore Jamillah Wade (Philadelphia, PA), sophomore Saraque Whittaker (Ft. Lauderdale St. Thomas Aquinas) and freshman Kitoya Carter (Miami Northwestern) recorded a time of 3:39.01. The UM relay currently ranks 11th in the nation.

The Hurricanes now prepare for the BIG EAST Outdoor Track and Field Championships, May 4-6, in Piscataway, NJ.
