UM Men Travel To Philadelphia For Penn Relays

Coral Gables, FL (hurricanesports.com) – The University of Miami men’s track and field team will travel to Philadelphia, PA for the 107th Penn Relays Carnival, April 26-28, at Franklin Field on the campus of the University of Pennsylvania.
Miami will begin competition in a number of events on Friday including the 100-meters, 110-meter hurdles, 4×100-meter relay and the pole vault.
Senior Joseph Mbayen (Paris, France) will lead the Hurricanes in the sprint events. Mbayen, the No. 1 ranked 100-meter runner in the BIG EAST, will compete in the 100-meter dash as well as the 4×100-meter relay.
Miami’s 4×100-meter relay of Mbayen, sophomore Philip Buchanon (Lehigh, FL), senior Daryl Jones (Dallas, TX) and freshman Willis McGahee (Miami Central) is also ranked No. 1 in the BIG EAST.
Also competing on Friday will be junior Gus Martin (Miami Northwestern) in the 110-meter hurdles and junior Jabari Ennis (Kingston, Jamaica) in the pole vault.
Martin has had an outstanding outdoor season posting the BIG EAST’s top time (13.93) in the 110-hurdles while recording four top-4 finishes. Ennis, who has recorded two straight meet victories, is attempting to win his fourth meet this outdoor season.
