No. 24 Men's Tennis Upsets No. 15 Miss State, 5-2

CORAL GABLES, Fla.–The No. 24-ranked University of Miami men’s tennis team upsets No. 15 Mississippi State 5-2 Friday night at the Neil Schiff Tennis Center.
Miami improves to 11-2 overall, while the Bulldogs fall to 8-4 on the season.
The Hurricanes jumped out early taking the doubles point with wins at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles.
No. 35 Peter Hoffman and Tomas Smid teamed up to defeat Marco Baron and Romain Ambert 8-2 at No. 1 singles, while Michael Lang and Jose Lieberman teamed up to down Luiz Carvalho and David Ruiz 8-5 at No. 2 doubles.
Smid defeated No. 16 Romain Ambert in three sets at No. 2 singles 3-6, 6-4, 6-3. Johan Lindqvist improved his singles record to 11-2 downing David Ruiz 6-1, 6-3 at No. 3 singles.
Hoffman won at No. 4 singles 6-4, 6-4 over Luiz Carvalho, while Andrew Golub beat Max Fomine 6-1, 6-3 at the No. 6 spot.
The Hurricanes are back in action Monday at 2 p.m. facing Charleston Southern at the Neil Schiff Tennis Center.
