Day One Of The BIG EAST Swimming And Diving Championships

Coral Gables, Fla – The University of Miami’s women’s swimming and diving team is in second place (176), behind four-time (97-00) defending champion Notre Dame (184) after the first day of competition at the 2001 BIG EAST Championships.
The women swept the 3-meter springboard event with Jenny Keim (Ft. Lauderdale, FL) taking first (542.10), edging teammates Michelle Davidson (528.95) and Kaite Beth Bryant (520.50).
Jennifer Weir (Cooper City, FL) paced the Hurricane women taking second in the 200-yard individual medley (2:03.31), behind Notre Dame’s Marie Labosky (2:01.87).
Kyle Prandi (Strongsville, OH) won the 1-meter springboard (340.75) downing Notre Dame’s Andy Maggio (302.70), after finishing second in the 1-meter in the 2000 BIG EAST Championships.
