Sarabyn, Gaulrapp Both Win At UCF Invitational

Orlando, FL – University of Miami senior Shannon Sarabyn (Centreville, VA) took first in the women’s competition and junior Jeff Gaulrapp (Baldwinsville, NY) was the top collegiate finisher in the men’s competition at the UCF Invitational in Orlando, FL.

The Hurricane women finished fourth out of 10 teams while the UM men took third out of 11 squads. Host Central Florida won the women’s team title while Florida International took first in the men’s team competition.

Sarabyn, Miami’s top finisher five of six races last season, completed the 5,000 meter course in a time 17:59 to record her sixth career individual title. Junior Jennifer Geroux (Balto, MD) also ran well finishing fourth in a time of 19:11.

Gaulrapp, one of two returning runners from last season, completed the 8,000 meter course in a time of 26:37. Freshman Matt Mulvaney (Worcester, MA), competing in his first collegiate meet, finished tenth (27:49).
