Morgan Named To Nagurski Award List

CORAL GABLES, Fla. (www.hurricanesports.com) – University of Miami senior middle linebacker Dan Morgan has been named one of 36 players included among candidates for the Bronko Nagurski “Watch List” of college football’s top defensive players, the Nagurski Trophy Committee announced.

Morgan, who is on pace to break Miami’s record for tackles in a career, also is listed among candidates for the Butkus Award as the nation’s top linebacker. The Nagurski, awarded annually since 1993, is presented by the Charlotte (N.C.) Touchdown Club and honors the memory of former college and pro football Hall of Famer Bronko Nagurski. The 2000 Bronko Nagurski Award will be presented December 4, 2000, at a banquet in Charlotte.
