***Miami advances to next weekend’s super-regionals vs. the winner of theTallahassee regional. The eight super-regional host sites will be announcedat 3:00 p.m. ET on Monday.
***Miami has won 12 consecutive post-season games, the longest such streak inschool history.The streak is one game shy of the NCAA record of 13 consecutive post-seasonwins. (USC – 1972-74, LSU 1997-98).
***Miami wins its seventh consecutive NCAA Regional. UM has won the NCAARegionals in each of Head Coach Jim Morris‘ seven years at Miami.
***With its 40th win, Miami has won 40 or more games for each of the lastseven seasons and in every year under Head Coach Jim Morris.
***UM has won nine straight NCAA regional games. The last time UM lost a NCAAregional game was on May 22, 1998 vs. North Carolina.
***Freshman designated hitter Danny Matienzo hit a grand slam in the firstinning to open the game’s scoring. It marked the second grand slam of theseason for Matienzo, tying the UM freshman record held by second basemanManny Crespo.
***The grand slam was Matienzo’s ninth home run on the season which leads allUM freshmen.
***Matienzo became the third player in school history to hit a grand slam inNCAA Regional play. Jason Michaels hit a grand slam on May 25, 1997 vs.Arizona State. Aubrey Huff hit a slam on March 18, 1998 vs. Bowling Green.
***Freshman shortstop Kevin Howard hit his 22nd double of the season tyinghim with four other Hurricanes for seventh place on the all-timesingle-season list.

***At the NCAA Regionals, third baseman Gus Alfonso led the Golden Panthersgoing 9-17 with three home runs and eight RBI.
