Hurricanes Set Two School Records At Georgia Tech
Atlanta, GA – The University of Miami women’s 4×400-meter relay set a new school-record with a time of 3:34.19 at the Georgia Tech Invitational in Atlanta, GA.
The relay, which consisted of sophomore Jenise Winston (League City, TX), freshman Saraque Whittaker (Ft. Lauderdale St. Thomas Aquinas), freshman Patricia Pearson (Jacksonville, FL) and junior Wyllesheia Myrick (Miami Northwestern), was the top collegiate finisher and recorded the sixth fastest time in the nation this season.
The time is also a NCAA provisional qualifier.
Earlier in the competition Myrick finished fifth in the 100-meters recording a NCAA provisional qualifying time of 11.43.
In the triple jump, All-America Kareen Clarke (Lithonic, GA) set a school-record with a leap of 13.24 meters (43-05.25). Clarke, the third ranked triple jumper in the nation, finished second among collegiate participants.
On the men’s side, junior Santana Moss (Carol City) finished sixth in the long jump with a leap of 7.50 meters (24-07.25).
