Women's Tennis Hosts Duke

CORAL GABLES, FL – The University of Miami women’s tennis team (4-2) hosts Duke (5-2) on Sunday, February 27 at the Neil Schiff Tennis Center on the Coral Gables campus. The match is slated to kick off at noon.
Most recently, the Hurricanes defeated Auburn. The Hurricanes won four singles matches and the sole doubles match played. Meredith Laughlin defeated Lucy Altman (6-4, 6-2). Marcy Hora handed Carolina Maurer a (6-0,6-0) loss. Lauren Scaglione beat Caroline Thompson (6-3, 6-2) while Eve Jimenez handled Summa Edwards (6-3, 6-2). The doubles team of Laughlin/Jimenez defeated the duo of Maurer/ Thompson, 8-6.
The Hurricanes are lead by Laughlin, a senior captain and already one of the winningest players in UM tennis history. She is off to a 6-0 start while playing at No. 3 and 4 singles. Jimenez boasts a 4-0 record playing at five and six singles.
Admission is free for all ages.
