WAXY (790 AM) To Carry Hurricane-Hoya Basketball Game

CORAL GABLES, Fla. — The Universityof Miami men’s basketball game versus Georgetown University at noon on Saturday, January 15 will bebroadcast on WAXY (790 AM).

Miami (9-6, 2-1 BIG EAST) looks to win its seventh consecutiveregular-season meeting against the Hoyas (8-6, 0-3 BIG EAST) and its sixth consecutive conference roadgame dating back to last season.

The Hurricanes have been led this season by the senior trio of guards JohnnyHemsley and Vernon Jennings and center Mario Bland.

Hemsley, one of 30 preseason candidates for theNaismith Award, is averaging a team high 18.9 points per game while Jennings ranks second in the BIGEAST in assists (6.4 apg) and leads the conference with a 2.44 assist-to-turnover ratio.

Bland ranks secondon the team in scoring (13.3 ppg) and leads the squad in rebounding (7.5 rpg).
