Relief Efforts At East Carolina-Miami Game In Place

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The Red Cross announced collection plans at the East Carolina/Miami football game at Carter-Finley Stadium in Raliegh, NC, for flood victims in eastern North Carolina.
Red Cross trailers will be parked in the stadium lots to accept donated goods. Items needed by the Red Cross are as follows:
Individual size drinks in plastic, aluminum or boxed containers (water, juice and soft drinks)Non-perishable food items including baby food and formulaPersonal hygiene products (overnight and travel size preferred)Disposable diapers (baby and adult)Cleaning supplies and materials
Used clothes and shoes are needed at this time.
Financial donations can be made through the North Carolina Hurricane Relief Fund by calling 1-888-835-9966.
LENDING A HELPING HAND
To help those in Greenville, NC in the aftermath of Hurricane Floyd, the University of Miami will be sending a truck of supplies to the East Carolina University campus next week. The University of Miami office of Student Affairs is working with their counterparts at East Carolina to gather items most needed by the East Carolina University student body.
HealthSouth Doctors’ Hospital of Coral Gables in conjunction with the Miami football team doctors is donating medical supplies.
In addition, University of Miami student body will be collecting monetary donations at the Hurricanes’ next home game versus Temple on October 16. The money will be sent to the Greenville chapter of the Red Cross to aid flood victims. The Red Cross will also be collecting items today at Carter-Finley Stadium.
