Women's Golf Finishes Sixth At Ryder Championship

MIAMI LAKES, Fla. – Central Florida shot a final round 310 to win theRYDER/Florida Women’s Collegiate Golf Championship held at Don Shula’s GolfResort in Miami Lakes, FL.

Central Florida (298-310-310-918), which won the RYDER Championship forthe first time in school history, finished 21 strokes ahead of second-placeFlorida (313-312-310-935). South Florida (306-318-315-939) finished third.

Central Florida’s Monica Gunderstrud won the individual title defeatingFlorida’s Paula Marti in the second hole of a sudden death play-off.Gunderstrud’s teammate and last year’s champion Line Berg (74-75-76-225)finished one stroke back in third-place.

Miami (319-327-322-968), which hosted the tournament for the 16thstraight year, finished sixth with a three round total of 968. TheHurricane’s Lorna Nelson (80-73-76-229) fired a final round 76 to finishsixth.
